Allied Projects

Who We Are

Founded in 1996, Allied has grown steadily into one of the largest electrical contractors in the electrical industry in Calgary and southern Alberta. Starting with commercial projects, we then expanded into healthcare and service work, added special projects in 2000, and civil infrastructure in 2003. We have excellent ratings with all the organizations who assess construction businesses: WCB, insurance, bonding, our bank, etc. because of the care and attention we give to every part of our company.

People

We are employee owned. Many of us have been with Allied from the beginning and have grown from apprentices to journeymen to foremen and further. Almost all our projects are staffed or managed by one or more owners of our company.

We are professionals. Competent, well organized, polite – and committed to producing a quality product where we can proudly say: we built that!

We are collaborative. We are always working as part of a team – thus our name: Allied.

Working together

You’ll hear the word “team” used a lot at Allied. The idea of teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. For example, our bids are prepared, not just by an estimator, but also with a project manager and a superintendent, and they are the ones who will build the project if the bid is successful.

We’re team members in the industry at large. Our senior management has served on a number of boards: Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training, Merit Contractors Association, the Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta.

And we’re team members in our community. For example, many of our staff volunteered during the flooding in Calgary to go door-to-door helping emergency response teams, safely shutting off power. We regularly support and contribute to such charities as Alex Youth Health Bus, the Calgary Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, the Calgary Women’s Shelter, Tim Horton’s Kids Camp, and many runs for different causes.
